On the Poets

Daniel Bowman, Jr. is the author of A Plum Tree in Leatherstocking Country (VAC Poetry, 2012) and Beggars in Heaven: A Novel (forthcoming, Antler Books, 2014). He is Assistant Professor of English at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.

D. S. Martin's poetry has appeared in many fine periodicals, including Anglican Theological Review, Canadian Literature, Christian Century, The Cresset, Sojourners, and Spiritus. His poetry books include a chapbook, So the Moon Would Not Be Swallowed (Rubicon Press), and a full-length collection, Poeima (Wipf & Stock). He is also editor of the new Poiema Poetry Series from Cascade Books.

J. D. Smith's third collection of poetry, Labor Day at Venice Beach, was published in 2012, and his first humor collection, Notes of a Tourist on Planet Earth, will be published in March. He works in Washington, DC and blogs at jdsmithwriter.blogspot.com.

Ann Hostetler teaches English and creative writing at Goshen College and is author of Empty Room with Light, a finalist for the Arlin G. Meyer Award. Her poems have appeared in The American Scholar, Nimrod, Valparaiso Poetry Review, and Washington Square, among other journals. She is co-editor of the Journal of the Center for Mennonite Writing at www.mennonitewriting.org.
