On the Poets

J. D. Smith's third collection of poetry, Labor Day at Venice Beach, was published in 2012, and his first humor collection, Notes of a Tourist on Planet Earth, will be published in March. He works in Washington, DC and blogs at jdsmithwriter.blogspot.com.

Becca J. R. Lachman teaches and tutors writing at Ohio University and is a graduate of the Bennington Writing Seminars. She recently published her first book of poems, The Apple Speaks (Cascadia 2012).

Bethany Bowman works in the Art Department office at Taylor University and has a BA in English from Robert Wesleyan College. Her poems have appeared in The Comstack Review and Art House America and are forthcoming in Nectar and The Other Journal.

Ann Hostetler teaches English and creative writing at Goshen College and is author of Empty Room with Light, a finalist for the Arlin G. Meyer Award. Her poems have appeared in The American Scholar, Nimrod, Valparaiso Poetry Review, and Washington Square, among other journals. She is co-editor of the Journal of the Center for Mennonite Writing at www.mennonitewriting.org.

Paul Willis is Professor of English at Westmont College and current poet laureate of Santa Barbara, California. His most recent collection of poetry is Rosing from the Dead (WordFarm 2009).

Jae Newman lives with his wife and two daughters near Rochester, New York. He teaches Creative Writing and Composition at Jamestown and Monroe Community Colleges.
